The spoils of Camden Markets & a walk to Church

OK! As it was much too dreary out to take nice pictures of Hyde Park, a few friends and I expolred the Camden Markets and here I bring you the spoils!

First up, this adorable shirt & skirt set that was a great sale and just called out to me! And it works being mix-matched with other things for different looks as well!

And here's a fabulous Batman t-shirt, that I just HAD to have. And for 4 pounds, who was I to turn down such a deal?

The rest of the day was uneventful, but the next morning I decided to document my trek to church, so here are some shots from that!

The street I live on - people have pointed out the different colors of sidewalk tiles, and in dryer weather, it's really prominent.

Palm trees?! Well, why not?

Very fun old, old car! With some cleaning up, it could be really nice!

Pretty flowers. ^_^

And there's the church! Right on Chiswick Hight Street (which is the British way of saying Main Street).

Nice and clearly labeled, too!

And there's the mass before mine getting out. They run 15 minutes apart, which I've noticed is NOT enough time to get everyone out before the new batch moves in, so I usually sneak in around this point in order to get a good seat. ^_^

Ok, that's all for now - later!

Stonehenge and Bath!!

Me at Stonehenge! I really wish we could've gotten closer, but it was still very cool!

Houses at the city of Bath - one of which Johnny Depp is thinking about buying! Exciting, no?

The Royal Crest House, and the Ha-Ha Wall beneath it!

Inside the Roman Bath house at Bath - impressive ceiling, no?

And there's some pics of the bath itself! The water's pretty nasty, but you can see how hot it is naturally!!

Ok, that's all for now! Later!

Shooting People

So, um...this is where I work.

Not a whole lot I can say about it - it's kind of beyond words. Very photogenic, though!

My New Room!

Ha-HA! My new room!! Complete w/desk and closet! Behold it's splendor!

As you can see, I've already succeeded in making a mess of it, in the two nights I've spent there!

The second half of this closet is full of the water tank that supplies the bathrooms in the house, but I don't mind - it's got more storage space than I had before!

It's ironic that I haven't actually used that desk yet - but I will! Mark my word!

My floor - not much of it, but I use it well!

And here's the present Mom sent me for Valentines Day! Isn't he cute?? Thanks, Mom!!

The Globe!

Just a few shots of the spot I got to visit on Sunday - the reconstructed Shakespeare's Globe Theatre!! Lots of fun, despite the cold!

A Saturday Adventure w/the Hat!

Tommy G's Hat and I went on an adventure this Saturday, under the guise of completing a photo project, we saw lots of fun things!
Like this pillar, the name of which I do not know. ^_^

And this AMAZINGLY HUGE courtyard at the Sommerset house!

And a psalm, engraved in stone.

And more red phone booths!

And a cannon!

And Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Tavern!

And Damn Fine Coffee.

All in all, it was a good day for the Hat, who relaxed reading the evening paper on the ride home!

The Commute

Oh the wonders of an hour and fifteen minute dcommute to class by public transportation. It may not sound all that bad, but to someone who's used to classes being a 5 minute walk away, it's a big adjustment. Come, track my journey w/me!

First stop, the Lawford Rd Bus Stop, a 5 minute walk around the corner from my house. Nice little bench to sit on, and frost-covered windows on winter mornings.

Through town we go, passing all sorts of neighborhoods and shops, like these. Morning traffic isn't bad, per say, but I'm constantly amazed that more people don't die in accidents from all the confusion and narrow roads.

In between streets of shops, there's the occasional greenery, which I'm looking forward to seeing in full bloom once spring comes around.

That's actually the bus I take home at night, but it was the only one that stood still long enough to photograph.
And there's my station, Turnham Green. The morning bus actually drives right past a station closer to my destination, refuses to stop, and then circles around to come back to this one. I still haven't figured out why that is.

And here's the station itself, this half devoid of commuters because nothing stops on this side, they all go right on past. Poor Turnham Green is a lonely little station - only one line loves it.

So there you have it! Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Weekend of Sightseeing!

Ok! Busy busy Friday! For work on a photo project for class, a classmate and I went up to the Natural History Museum, which is spectacular! The building itself is enourmous, as you can see:

An inside view of the lobby, just to give you an idea of the scale of the place.

And here's the first thing you see when you walk in the door (after the security guard who checks your bags for sharp objects, lol) - Dino-skeleton! He was so long I couldn't fit him all into one frame!

I took WAY too many photos of the exhibits inside, so here are some of the highlights. Up first, recreated dinosaur nest, complete with adorable babies!

You can't tell from the photo, but this giant T-Rex moved and roared and stuff, you could here him throughout the exibit.

Then there were present-day animals galore - too many to show here, but here's an example - elephants!

Saturday night was spent touring the theater district, and I found the Palace Theatre, which is hosting "SPAMALOT", so I had to get a picture. Not sure if I'll actually get to see the show, but it was cool just be be where it's playing!

Ok, that's all for now! Enjoy!!
